Gravity

Writing Focus:I am learning to support the main ideas with relevant
detail and elaboration. Reading Focus: I am learning to locate the
main idea within the text.

Gravity is a force that attracts all objects towards each other. Gravity decreases as
distance between the objects increases.  Isaac Newton was the first to come up with the
idea that all objects are attracted towards each other by gravity.

As a satellite moves around the Earth in a circular orbit, the direction of the force of
gravity is always towards the centre of the Earth. However, if the satellite is given speed
in any direction horizontal to the surface of the Earth, it will travel further before it hits
the Earth.

When does gravity decrease?  Gravity decreases as distance between the
objects increases.
When does the force of gravity become noticeable?  Gravity only becomes
noticeable if one (or both) of the objects has a lot of mass, such as the Earth.
Gravity disappears when you are above the atmosphere. True or False?
Gravity doesn’t disappear just because you are above the atmosphere. Even
if an object is high above the Earth’s atmosphere, there will still be a strong
force of gravity pulling it towards the centre of the Earth
According to the text, how long does it take the International Space Station
(ISS) to orbit Earth?
Astronauts and (ISS) are also both travelling horizontally at 28,000 km/h. As
they fall towards the ground, they travel so fast horizontally that they miss
the Earth altogether and orbit the Earth once every 90 minutes.
Who first stated that all objects are attracted towards each other by gravity?
Isaac Newton was the first person to state that all objects are attracted
towards each other.
Find six words in the text that have a suffix.  (Orbit-ing), (fail-ed), (weightless-ness),(attract-ed),(notice-able)and (horizontal-ly).

SOLO Response

SOLO Response
When we first started our election unit I put myself at uni structural. I put myself at uni structural because I only knew one idea.

Uni Structural
What groups do I belong too? I belong to, scout, school, family, pakeha, New Zealand citizen and sports  groups and much more. Who makes the decisions in my groups? In my groups like my family. My parents and my sisters and brothers and I come up with the rules. How do people participate in the elections? People participate in the elections by enrolling, once you are enrolled you can go down and vote. You can vote 2 weeks before the actual election day. Why do people participate in elections? People participate in elections so they can vote for the party/candidate they want to vote for. What and where are polling booths? Polling booths is where you vote, polling booths have walls around so that nobody can see who you are voting for. Polling booths are also in big places like halls and class rooms. What do rights and responsibilities mean? My rights mean what I have the right to do, for example I have the right to eat food in my house. Responsibilities mean things that you are in charge of like doing your chores. What does election mean? Election means a political system of choosing by voting.

Multi Structural
Describe the issues that New Zealanders might think are important when choosing the person they will vote for in an election.  Some issues that will affect them for example there job, there family, tax, bills they have to pay, the person is nice.
Describe who makes up our parliament. (The structure.)
The people who make up our parliament is the people who are elected.
Describe ways in which people can make decisions.
People can make decisions by voting for the candidate they want to vote for. They can also make decisions by not voting.

Relational
Explain why people should be allowed to vote in an election.
People should be able to vote in an election because it affects their future and things in there life. For example tax, job, bills, family.
Why is there a general electoral roll and a Māori roll?
There is a general electoral roll for people who want to not vote for maori and there is a Māori  roll for people who want to vote all Māori .
Identify why some people have difficulty voting in an election.
Some people have difficulty voting in an election because some people can’t get a roll so they can vote. Some people don't have an address so nothing can get sent to them.

I put myself at relational because I can answer the questions up to relational. I understand the questions and my answers. That is why I put myself at relation.

Housing And Homeless Speech

Success Criteria: we will have met our learning intentions when we can
  • Plan our speech using Coggle
  • Construct texts that show an awareness of purpose and audience through deliberate choice of content, language, and text form.
  • Convey and sustain personal voice where appropriate.
  • Write and film our own version of a “edTalk” to share with our peers.
