SOLO Response

SOLO Response
When we first started our election unit I put myself at uni structural. I put myself at uni structural because I only knew one idea.

Uni Structural
What groups do I belong too? I belong to, scout, school, family, pakeha, New Zealand citizen and sports  groups and much more. Who makes the decisions in my groups? In my groups like my family. My parents and my sisters and brothers and I come up with the rules. How do people participate in the elections? People participate in the elections by enrolling, once you are enrolled you can go down and vote. You can vote 2 weeks before the actual election day. Why do people participate in elections? People participate in elections so they can vote for the party/candidate they want to vote for. What and where are polling booths? Polling booths is where you vote, polling booths have walls around so that nobody can see who you are voting for. Polling booths are also in big places like halls and class rooms. What do rights and responsibilities mean? My rights mean what I have the right to do, for example I have the right to eat food in my house. Responsibilities mean things that you are in charge of like doing your chores. What does election mean? Election means a political system of choosing by voting.

Multi Structural
Describe the issues that New Zealanders might think are important when choosing the person they will vote for in an election.  Some issues that will affect them for example there job, there family, tax, bills they have to pay, the person is nice.
Describe who makes up our parliament. (The structure.)
The people who make up our parliament is the people who are elected.
Describe ways in which people can make decisions.
People can make decisions by voting for the candidate they want to vote for. They can also make decisions by not voting.

Relational
Explain why people should be allowed to vote in an election.
People should be able to vote in an election because it affects their future and things in there life. For example tax, job, bills, family.
Why is there a general electoral roll and a Māori roll?
There is a general electoral roll for people who want to not vote for maori and there is a Māori  roll for people who want to vote all Māori .
Identify why some people have difficulty voting in an election.
Some people have difficulty voting in an election because some people can’t get a roll so they can vote. Some people don't have an address so nothing can get sent to them.

I put myself at relational because I can answer the questions up to relational. I understand the questions and my answers. That is why I put myself at relation.

Pamphlet Review

This term in Room One we are doing work around the elections. We had to create a party and create a pamphlet. Our pamphlet had to have 2 sides with 3 sections on each. This is also what we had to have:

✓Name of Party
ID leaders
✓Slogan
✓Deliberate use of colour
✓Photo of party members
✓Clear to read
✓No overlap
✓Logo
✓Contact details
✓Policies x2

I rate it a 9/10.

I gave it a 9/10 because we had everything we needed but one, we had  the party name, slogan, colour white/blue, photos, clear to read, no overlap, logo, contact details and 2 policies. This is why I gave it a 9/10.
Next time we will make sure that we label who our main leader is.

This is our pamphlet:

Housing And Homeless Speech

Success Criteria: we will have met our learning intentions when we can
  • Plan our speech using Coggle
  • Construct texts that show an awareness of purpose and audience through deliberate choice of content, language, and text form.
  • Convey and sustain personal voice where appropriate.
  • Write and film our own version of a “edTalk” to share with our peers.
